5 Amazing Places For Your Honeymoon

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterGoogle+Pin on PinterestEmail to someone

I am curious, how important is honeymoon for you, compared to the wedding? I have some newlywed friends who skip the post-wedding trip, though most couples choose to head off on a honeymoon. I, myself, would skip a wedding reception if it means we get to go to two or three honeymoon destinations.

I think a honeymoon is the perfect time for newly married couples to spend some uninterrupted time together, exploring new and exciting places. You know, any excuse to travel. But, with so many different places to choose from, it can be difficult to choose the best place to visit.

Where you go will depend on the type of trip you want to take. Most newlyweds want to visit somewhere sunny, unique and special, that is not too expensive. You may also want to visit somewhere that will be memorable and fun, and will allow you to relax and de-stress.

Usually, newlyweds choose to go straight from their wedding venue to the airport for their honeymoon, so it is important to choose a wedding venue that is not too far from the airport. For instance, if you are choosing wedding venues in Denver, make sure to opt for one that is not too far from the local airport and is easy to access.

Here are five amazing places, you could visit on your honeymoon or cakemoon:

1. California

California is the perfect beach location for a honeymoon. It’s warm and sunny, with blue tranquil waters, perfect for swimming and snorkeling in. And, best of all, it’s the perfect place for trying out something new, with various watersports on offer.

As well as the beach, California also has many other sights and attractions perfect for honeymooners. Including romantic restaurants, five-star hotels and various theme parks to choose from. One of the most popular theme parks is, of course, Disney World.

2. Phuket

Phi Phi Island

I have been to Phuket way too many times. Once with my besties, another time with colleagues, then again with Hulk. And given a chance, I would go there again. Aside from the exotic culture, stunning views, and relaxed atmosphere, there are many things that make Phuket the perfect honeymoon location. Picture white sandy beaches, crystal clear lagoons, and stunning landscapes, and that is just a small part of what Phuket has to offer.

3. Bali

Do you know who went to Bali for their honeymoon? My parents, more than thirty years ago. It is known as one of Asia’s best honeymoon locations, ideal for newlyweds looking for something a little bit different. Aside from its beautiful sandy beaches and warm waters, Bali has a lot more to offer its visitors.

Bali Indonesia Bali is also home to some of the world’s best spas. Making it the perfect place for a relaxing and tranquil honeymoon.

4. Crete

The Greek island paradise of Crete is the perfect honeymoon destination. Complete with stunning beaches, ancient architecture, and unique landscapes, Crete is a beautiful destination.

One of the must-see sights of Crete is Elafonisi beach. Complete with calm, blue waters, and pastel pink sand, Elafonisi beach is one of Crete’s most romantic locations.

5. Menorca

The smallest Balearic island, Menorca is the perfect place to get away from it all and spend a week or two relaxing with your new partner. Smaller and more intimate than Ibiza and Mallorca, Menorca is the perfect place to relax and spend some quality time together. Complete with salt water lagoons, unique cities, and sandy beaches, Menorca is the perfect honeymoon destination.

How about you guys, where did or are you planning to go on your honeymoon?

Ps. Read more about my Bali adventures. Thank you for reading you guys! Have a blessed weekend.

  • Um, I definitely would have skipped the wedding if I could have had two honeymoons haha. We went to Thailand/Cambodia for our honeymoon last year (but not Phuket), and we actually went to Crete for our “engagement honeymoon” in 2013 haha. My husband proposed while we were in Europe, and he had cleverly planned ahead so we would have a few days on Crete alone after the proposal. 🙂

Funny thing is that my coworkers were asking me, “Since you’ve been all over, where will you go for your Honeymoon?”

Uh good question. We both don’t know yet! We barely agreed on a date & a country (!) to get married at and barely starting to plan! We might just stick with Europe. Maybe do the old fashion backpacking 🙂

Hahahaha!! Consider yourself lucky Rim! Hey, would you consider down under? Kae NZ gitu.. But whatever your choice is, I am sure it’s gonna be epic

  • We know that planning your wedding day and honeymoon is one of the most exciting periods of your life – but it’s often among the most stressful!
