We Live in Juice Box HDB in Singapore

Me and most of the people I know live in HDB in Singapore. HDB is government housing buildings, which makes it considerably cheaper to buy (if you are a local) and to rent. It looks almost identical everywhere you go all around Singapore. For me, these buildings are the true representation of Singapore, more than Merlion itself.

Miniature HDB

Above miniatures were made by school kids using local brand juice boxes in time with Singapore’s independence day on 9th August. The best ones were displayed in Central mall, Clarke Quay.

These “boxes” made to resemble a typical neighborhood in Singapore. And I can vouch for it since I have lived in 10 of them: Queenstown, Paya Lebar, Farrer Park, Hougang, Serangoon, Yishun, Eunos, Joo Chiat, Orchard and Bishan (twice).

^^ This particular miniature is my favorite. It reminded me of the blocks I walk pass by everyday on the way to the nearest bus stop to take bus number 56 or 57 to get to Bishan MRT. Someday this too will be a memory in the past. A cherished one for sure.
