Practice Gratitude

It is already September bloggies, and I, for one, am excited about it. It is my birthday month, an awesome excuse to stuff cakes into my mouth many times, Oh also, I’m being celebrated. Yay me! I will be going coming home this month. There is a staycation in the agenda, and I took one of this month’s Mondays off. Things are looking rainbow-ey for me. How about you, how does your September look like?

My last week goal was resting and recouping. Now that I think about it, it feels like I kinda cheated. I mean I rest all the time. It is my hobby. It is my nature. My tombstone would say “Born to RR”. It’s like saying to eat a cake as a goal, except of course if the cake is Vienna’s Sacher-Torte.

So yeah, my bad, and because of last week’s not-a-goal goal, I put extra effort to come up with this week’s. I was deciding between adapting Erika’s (Happy Birthday Erika!) gratitude attitude and Nicole’s budget envelopes (I certainly can make do with some money management this month; when I was a kid, birthdays would fatten my piggy bank, now it is the complete opposite). But this evening, a conversation with Hulk nudged me that I could be a happier. Much happier, If only I would pause and spend some time “thinking” about it, so I choose gratitude first.

We could be happier
We could be HAPPIER even the tea cup said so

This week my weekly wish is to write four things I am grateful/happy about just before going to bed.

I think it is an attainable goal, especially with all the cakes eating that is going to happen in the near future. More importantly, I believe this goal will make me a happier geek by the end of the week.

How about you? Have you ever set a goal to make yourself happier? If yes, tell me how do you do that? and If not, why don’t you?

At this very moment, I am grateful for the pouring rain outside my window and for Melyssa, the awesome girl behind the Weekly Wishes linkup.

Good Luck with your goal! That’s a great idea. It’s always a good idea to keep positivity in the front of your mind.

Thank you Angela 🙂 I plan to work on being more positive

  • That’s a really inspiring idea! I think I am going to do the same 🙂
Thanks for that! I hope it works for you…. at the moment I am not doing anything to make me happier, but I know I should…
    Have a lovely week!! 🙂

Hey great! I would love to have weekly wishes buddies working towards similar goals. Ciao for us!

  • I love your goal! I think it’s such a great idea that will help you become happier and grateful for the things in your life. I wanted to do a happiness jar a while ago (which is similar to your idea), but never got around to it. I think I should reconsider it.

  • Such a great goal! I’m pretty sure it will be a good recall at the end of the week, it will bring a big smile on your face for sure.
